Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Performance

The RG-RAP1200(F) operates simultaneously across the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands. Its dual-radio design provides two spatial streams on each band using 2×2 MIMO technology.

The 2.4GHz radio provides a manufacturer-rated maximum wireless data rate of 400Mbps, while the 5GHz radio supports up to 866Mbps. Together, these give the product its advertised maximum combined wireless rate of approximately 1266Mbps.

These figures are theoretical radio link rates rather than guaranteed user throughput. Actual wireless performance depends on the connected client device, signal strength, interference, channel width, network traffic, building construction and upstream network connection.

The access point supports Wi-Fi standards including IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n and 802.11ac Wave 1 and Wave 2, providing compatibility with a wide range of suitable Wi-Fi devices.

MU-MIMO for Multi-Device Environments

802.11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO technology allows the access point to communicate more efficiently with multiple compatible wireless devices.

This is useful in environments such as hotel rooms, offices and shared residential spaces where phones, tablets, laptops and other wireless devices may be connected at the same time.

MU-MIMO performance depends on support from the connected wireless clients and should not be interpreted as guaranteeing the maximum advertised wireless speed to every connected device simultaneously.

Two Fast Ethernet Network Ports

The RG-RAP1200(F) provides two 10/100BASE-T Ethernet interfaces. These are Fast Ethernet ports with a maximum nominal Ethernet link rate of 100Mbps per port.

This is an important distinction because the access point's combined wireless radio capability is considerably higher than the speed of its wired Ethernet interfaces. Customers should therefore not be told that this model provides Gigabit Ethernet ports.

For installations where Gigabit wired connectivity is required, a different Reyee access point with Gigabit Ethernet interfaces should be selected.

The access point can still provide wireless connectivity to many devices, but overall internet and LAN throughput can be restricted by the Fast Ethernet uplink and the wider network infrastructure.

Integrated Dual-Band Antennas

The access point contains two built-in omnidirectional antennas serving the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands.

The integrated design keeps the installation compact and avoids external antennas protruding from the wall unit. As with any wireless installation, final coverage depends on wall construction, neighbouring wireless networks, interference, mounting position and client-device capability.

PoE-Powered Installation

The RG-RAP1200(F) is designed to receive electrical power through Power over Ethernet. Ruijie's current product information identifies PoE input support and lists PoE/PoE+ as the supported power-source arrangement.

No separate local DC power supply connection is provided. This helps simplify installation because data and electrical power can be delivered through the network cabling from compatible PoE equipment.

Maximum rated power consumption is 8W.

This model does not provide a PoE output budget and should not be confused with the RG-RAP1200(P), which is a different model with additional interfaces and PoE-passthrough capabilities.

Ruijie Cloud Management

The RG-RAP1200(F) supports Ruijie Cloud management, allowing compatible installations to be configured and monitored through the supported Ruijie Reyee platform.

Available cloud functions include centralised network management, remote monitoring and maintenance, scenario-based configuration and supported cloud portal functions.

Ruijie's Self-Organizing Network technology is designed to simplify deployment of compatible Reyee equipment, while Wi-Fi Intelligent Optimization can assist with automatic wireless optimisation.

Cloud features depend on the current Ruijie platform, firmware, account configuration and internet connectivity. The access point should not be advertised as providing permanent access to every possible cloud feature regardless of future service or firmware changes.

Wireless Client Capacity

Ruijie's current specification lists a maximum of 64 associated wireless clients on the 2.4GHz radio and 110 clients on the 5GHz radio. With both radios enabled, the published overall maximum is 110 associated wireless clients.

These figures represent technical maximum association limits rather than a guarantee that 110 devices can simultaneously run bandwidth-intensive applications at full performance.

For environments with large numbers of active users, network design should consider client behaviour, application requirements, internet bandwidth, radio interference and the number of access points required.

Compact 86mm Wall-Mounted Design

The RG-RAP1200(F) measures approximately 86 × 29.3 × 86mm and is designed for installation using a compatible wall or junction-box arrangement.

The compact wall-plate format makes it suitable for hotel rooms, bedrooms, small offices, apartments and other locations where a ceiling-mounted access point may be undesirable.

The manufacturer lists a product weight of no more than approximately 0.14kg without packaging. The current package specification lists approximately 0.19kg total package weight.

Indoor Environmental Protection

The access point has an IP41 rating and is intended for indoor use. It is not an outdoor weatherproof access point.

Ruijie specifies an operating-temperature range from 0°C to 40°C and a storage-temperature range from -40°C to 70°C.

The official installation documentation lists operating and storage humidity from 5% to 95% RH under non-condensing conditions.

The product should be installed in a suitable dry indoor location and should not be directly exposed to rain, excessive moisture or unsuitable environmental conditions.
