Card and PIN Access Control

The DS-K1T809MX supports multiple access-authentication methods using an M1 card or PIN. This gives users a simple alternative to traditional mechanical keys and allows the terminal to be incorporated into controlled-door installations for authorised staff, residents or other permitted users.

Card and PIN capability should not be confused with biometric authentication. The DS-K1T809MX does not provide fingerprint or facial-recognition hardware.

Up to 1,000 Users and 1,000 M1 Cards

Hikvision's current specification lists a maximum user capacity of 1,000 and a card capacity of 1,000 M1 cards.

This capacity is suitable for many smaller and medium-sized access-control applications such as offices, shops, stock rooms, apartment entrances, workshops and staff-only areas.

The 1,000-card limit is important for this exact MX variant. It should not be replaced with a 5,000-card figure taken from other DS-K1T809 models or conflicting reseller documentation.

Built-In M1 Card Reader

The terminal includes an integrated reader for compatible M1 credentials. Hikvision specifies an approximate card-reading distance of 3cm and a reading duration of around one second.

Actual reading performance can depend on the credential type, positioning and installation environment, so the published distance should be treated as the manufacturer's rated reference rather than a guaranteed distance with every third-party credential.

Physical PIN Keypad

Physical buttons are built into the front of the DS-K1T809MX, allowing PIN-based authentication and local user interaction.

The physical keypad design is particularly useful for straightforward door-entry applications where a touchscreen or graphical user interface is unnecessary.

Integrated Door Lock Control

One lock-control interface is provided for use as part of a compatible electric-lock installation.

The exact locking device, power arrangement and any additional protection components should be selected according to the electrical requirements of the access-control system. A lock should not be described as included unless your specific retail bundle supplies one.

Exit Button Input

A dedicated exit-button input allows a compatible request-to-exit device to be connected. This is useful where authorised users need to release the controlled door from the secure side without presenting a card or entering a PIN.

The exit button itself is an external accessory and should only be advertised as included if it forms part of the product package being sold.

Door Contact Monitoring

One door-contact input is provided for connecting a compatible magnetic or other door-position contact.

This allows the access-control arrangement to monitor the physical state of the controlled door when correctly wired and configured.

Alarm Output

The DS-K1T809MX includes one alarm output for integration with suitable external equipment.

Exact alarm operation depends on the complete system wiring and configuration. The alarm output should not be confused with a built-in security alarm panel or siren.

Wiegand 26/34 Output

The terminal provides Wiegand output supporting Wiegand 26 and Wiegand 34 formats.

This allows credential information to be passed to compatible external access-control equipment where required.

It is important to describe this accurately as Wiegand output. Hikvision's current datasheet does not list this interface as a bidirectional Wiegand input/output connection.

No Wi-Fi on the DS-K1T809MX

The DS-K1T809MX should not be confused with the DS-K1T809MWX. The W designation identifies models that add wireless functionality.

Hikvision's current K1T809 Series documentation lists Wi-Fi, AP mode, mobile-web operation and Hik-Connect compatibility for W-equipped versions. These functions are not listed for the DS-K1T809MX.

If those wireless management functions are required, the appropriate W-series model should be selected instead.

12V DC Power

The DS-K1T809MX requires a 12V DC, 1A power source according to Hikvision's published specification.

PoE is not listed for this exact MX terminal, so it should not be advertised as a PoE-powered access-control device.

A separate power supply should only be described as included when your exact product package contains one.

IP65 Environmental Protection

The terminal carries an IP65 protection rating and is designed for outdoor applications as well as protected indoor locations.

IP65 means the enclosure provides protection against dust ingress and water jets under the relevant test conditions. It does not mean the device is designed for permanent underwater installation.

Correct installation, cable entry and sealing remain important for maintaining environmental protection.

Wide Operating Temperature

Hikvision specifies an operating-temperature range from -40°C to +65°C and an operating-humidity range from 0% to 90% under non-condensing conditions.

This wide operating range supports use in a variety of indoor and outdoor access-control environments when the terminal is correctly installed.

Slim Metal Design

The DS-K1T809MX uses a slim metal construction designed to fit neatly beside doors and entrance points.

The unit measures approximately 151 × 48 × 21.5mm. Hikvision specifies a net weight of approximately 220.3g and a gross packaged weight of approximately 352g.

Its narrow 48mm body can be particularly useful where installation space around a door frame is limited.
