The Hikvision DS-3E1510P-EI V2 is an 8-port Gigabit Smart Managed PoE network switch designed for professional IP CCTV, security and business-network installations. It combines eight Gigabit Power over Ethernet ports with two additional Gigabit RJ45 network ports, allowing cameras and other compatible PoE devices to be connected while maintaining high-speed network connectivity to an NVR, router, server or wider LAN.

This exact V2 version provides a substantial 110W total PoE power budget, with up to 30W available from an individual compatible PoE port subject to the overall shared power limit. It also provides intelligent CCTV-focused management features including PoE watchdog, VLAN support, port isolation, STP/RSTP loop prevention, cable diagnostics, long-range PoE transmission and remote management through Hik-Partner Pro.

8 Gigabit PoE Ports for IP CCTV

Ports 1 to 8 provide Gigabit Ethernet connectivity together with Power over Ethernet for compatible devices. This makes the switch particularly useful for Hikvision IP cameras and other IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at network equipment.

Unlike Fast Ethernet CCTV switches limited to 100Mbps per camera port, the DS-3E1510P-EI V2 provides 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit connectivity across its PoE interfaces. This can be useful for installations involving multiple high-resolution cameras, high data rates or other Gigabit-capable network devices.

PoE allows network data and electrical power to travel through the same suitable Ethernet cable, reducing the need for separate local power supplies at compatible camera positions.

Two Additional Gigabit RJ45 Ports

In addition to the eight Gigabit PoE ports, the switch provides two Gigabit RJ45 network ports. These can be used for suitable uplink or network connections such as an NVR, router, another switch or the wider local network.

This exact model uses RJ45 copper Ethernet connections for the two additional ports. It should not be confused with variants such as the DS-3E1510P-EI/M-8P2F, which uses two fibre-optical ports instead.

110W Total PoE Power Budget

The exact DS-3E1510P-EI(O-STD)V2 has a total PoE power budget of 110W across ports 1 to 8.

Each compatible PoE port supports a maximum output of up to 30W under IEEE 802.3af/at operation, but the 110W figure is shared across the complete group of PoE ports. It does not provide 110W on every port.

For example, an installer should calculate the combined maximum consumption of all connected cameras and ensure it remains within the total 110W PoE budget.

This model does not specify IEEE 802.3bt or 60W/90W Hi-PoE output. Cameras requiring more than the supported IEEE 802.3at power level should use appropriately rated power equipment.

20Gbps Gigabit Switching Performance

The switch provides a manufacturer-specified switching capacity of 20Gbps and packet forwarding performance of 14.88 million packets per second.

A 4K MAC address table and 1.5Mbit internal cache support network traffic management across the switch.

These are switch-processing specifications rather than guaranteed internet or camera-stream speeds. Actual network performance depends on connected devices, cabling, network design, traffic levels and other infrastructure.

PoE Watchdog for CCTV Reliability

PoE Watchdog is available across PoE ports 1 to 8. The feature is designed to detect a connected camera that stops responding and automatically restart the relevant PoE port in an attempt to restore communication.

This can reduce the need for an installer or operator to physically power-cycle an unresponsive camera. It should not, however, be interpreted as guaranteeing recovery from every camera, cabling, network or hardware fault.

Up to 300m Long-Range PoE Transmission

Long-range mode supports PoE transmission on ports 1 to 8 at distances of up to 300 metres under suitable conditions.

This can be useful for CCTV cameras positioned substantially farther away than a conventional standard Ethernet installation.

The 300m figure is a manufacturer-rated maximum for the long-range function rather than a guaranteed distance in every installation. Hikvision notes that performance can vary according to the connected camera and cable conditions, so suitable cabling and installation testing remain important.

802.1Q VLAN and Port Isolation

The switch supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN configuration with VLAN IDs from 1 to 4094, Access and Trunk port modes and up to 32 configured VLANs.

VLANs can help separate different types of network traffic and create a more structured CCTV or business network.

Port isolation is also available across ports 1 to 8. Devices placed within the isolation group are prevented from communicating directly with one another while retaining communication with ports outside the isolation group, helping improve network separation and security in suitable designs.

STP and RSTP Loop Prevention

IEEE 802.1D STP and IEEE 802.1w RSTP are supported to help protect the network against switching loops.

A switching loop can severely disrupt network communication by allowing traffic to circulate repeatedly. Correctly configured loop-prevention functions can therefore be useful in installations containing multiple interconnected switches or redundant network paths.

Static Link Aggregation

The DS-3E1510P-EI V2 supports static link aggregation with up to three aggregation groups.

Link aggregation allows multiple appropriate physical connections to be combined logically for suitable network designs, supporting applications involving load distribution, increased aggregate bandwidth or link protection.

Both ends of an aggregated link must be configured correctly and support the required network arrangement.

Hik-Partner Pro Remote Management

The switch supports one-click activation and remote management through Hik-Partner Pro. Supported management information includes port rate, bandwidth utilisation, PoE power usage, network topology and alarm status.

Supported remote actions include restarting ports and devices, enabling long-range mode and remotely upgrading the switch.

Remote functionality depends on supported software, network connectivity, firmware and correct account and device configuration.

Web Management and Network Diagnostics

The switch also supports browser-based device management and DHCP client operation for automatic management-address assignment.

A fixed Super IP address is available for direct management access where required. Cable diagnostics can help identify abnormal open circuits, short circuits and approximate network-cable length.

LLDP is supported for peer-device discovery, while port mirroring can assist with network diagnostics and fault investigation.

6kV Surge Protection

Hikvision specifies 6kV surge protection for the switch. This provides additional protection against transient electrical surges within the manufacturer's specified test conditions.

Surge protection built into a switch does not remove the need for proper electrical installation, earthing, suitable external surge protection or lightning-protection measures where required.

Compact Metal Housing

The DS-3E1510P-EI V2 uses a metal enclosure measuring approximately 217.6 × 27.6 × 108.5mm. Net device weight is approximately 0.54kg.

The switch can be installed on a desktop or wall mounted, allowing it to fit conveniently into smaller CCTV cabinets, communications areas and equipment installations.

The specified operating-temperature range is 0°C to 40°C with operating humidity from 5% to 95% under non-condensing conditions.
