4MP High-Resolution CCTV Imaging

The DS-2CD2T46G2H-2I records at up to 2688 × 1520 resolution, providing detailed 4MP video for everyday surveillance and recorded-event review.

In UK 50Hz operation, the main stream supports up to 25 frames per second at 2688 × 1520, as well as 1920 × 1080 and 1280 × 720. Separate sub-stream and supported third-stream options allow the camera to be configured for recording, remote viewing and bandwidth-sensitive applications.

The combination of 4MP resolution and a wide 2.8mm lens makes this model particularly useful where the aim is to cover a relatively broad scene without moving to a panoramic or fisheye camera.

Wide 2.8mm F1.0 Fixed Lens

This exact Black version uses a 2.8mm fixed focal lens with an F1.0 aperture. Hikvision specifies an approximate field of view of 100.2° horizontally, 54.7° vertically and 119.7° diagonally.

The wide viewing angle is well suited to driveways, residential entrances, gardens, shop fronts, office approaches, loading areas and similar locations where a broad area needs to remain visible from a single fixed camera position.

The F1.0 aperture also allows a large amount of available light to reach the sensor, supporting the camera's strong low-light performance.

The lens is fixed. It does not provide optical zoom, motorised focal-length adjustment or PTZ movement. The camera direction is positioned manually during installation.

Powered-by-DarkFighter Low-Light Performance

Powered-by-DarkFighter technology is designed to produce useful images in very low ambient light. Hikvision specifies minimum colour illumination down to 0.001 lux at F1.0 with automatic gain control enabled.

This can help the camera retain colour information for longer as lighting levels fall. Once there is insufficient visible light, the camera can switch to infrared-assisted black-and-white monitoring.

The DS-2CD2T46G2H-2I should not be advertised as a ColorVu camera. DarkFighter improves low-light image performance, but this model uses infrared illumination in darkness rather than promising permanent full-colour video with white-light illumination.

Up to 60 Metres Infrared Night Vision

The DS-2CD2T46G2H-2I is the -2I version and has a manufacturer-rated infrared illumination distance of up to 60 metres. Smart Supplement Light helps regulate the infrared output according to the scene.

The 60-metre specification refers to the maximum rated IR illumination range. It should not be interpreted as a guaranteed facial-identification or vehicle-registration-reading distance.

Actual night-time detail depends on the mounting position, target size, surrounding surfaces, weather, scene lighting and other installation conditions.

2.8mm DORI Planning Guidance

For the 2.8mm lens, Hikvision provides approximate DORI planning distances of 63 metres for detection, 25 metres for observation, 12 metres for recognition and 6 metres for identification.

These figures are theoretical pixel-density planning references. They do not guarantee that a particular person's face, number plate or other identifying feature will always be usable at the stated distance.

AcuSense Human and Vehicle Classification

Hikvision AcuSense uses deep-learning algorithms to distinguish supported human and vehicle targets from other types of movement.

When the camera and event rules are configured correctly, this can help reduce unnecessary notifications generated by unrelated activity such as animals, moving vegetation or environmental changes.

Supported perimeter functions include line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting detection. Human and vehicle classification can be applied to supported events so the system can concentrate on more relevant security activity.

Face Capture

The camera supports face capture, allowing suitable images containing detected faces to be captured as part of a compatible surveillance configuration.

Face capture is not the same as facial identity recognition. The camera should not be advertised as independently recognising or identifying named individuals.

120dB True Wide Dynamic Range

True 120dB Wide Dynamic Range helps the camera handle scenes containing very bright and very dark areas at the same time.

This is particularly useful around entrances, gates, windows and vehicle approaches where strong daylight or headlights can otherwise cause important areas of the image to appear overexposed or underexposed.

Additional image-processing functions include Backlight Compensation, Highlight Compensation and 3D Digital Noise Reduction.

H.265+ Efficient Recording

Hikvision H.265+ compression is designed to reduce storage and network-bandwidth requirements compared with less efficient recording configurations while maintaining useful surveillance image quality.

The camera also supports H.265, H.264+ and H.264 formats, giving installers flexibility when connecting the camera to compatible Hikvision NVRs or other supported recording platforms.

MicroSD, NAS and NVR Recording

A built-in microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC card slot supports compatible memory cards with capacities up to 512GB.

The camera does not contain 512GB of built-in memory, and a memory card should only be described as included when one is specifically supplied as part of the retail package.

Compatible NAS recording is also supported, together with Automatic Network Replenishment for suitable Hikvision systems. For full CCTV installations, the camera can be connected to an appropriately specified Hikvision NVR for central recording, playback and management.

Recorder compatibility should always be checked against the exact NVR model, firmware, resolution support and required smart functions.

PoE for Simple Installation

The camera provides a self-adaptive 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet connection and supports IEEE 802.3af PoE Class 3.

PoE allows network data and camera power to be delivered through one suitable Ethernet cable when used with a compatible PoE NVR, PoE network switch or injector.

The camera can alternatively operate from a suitable 12V DC power supply. Maximum rated consumption is approximately 7.2W using 12V DC or 9W using PoE.

IP67 Metal Outdoor Housing

The camera uses metal construction and carries an IP67 protection rating for resistance to dust and water when correctly installed and sealed.

Hikvision specifies an operating range from -30°C to 60°C with relative humidity of 95% or less under non-condensing conditions.

The camera measures approximately 286.7 × 93.1 × 91.2mm and weighs approximately 1.085kg.
