The Hikvision DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS (C) is a professional 8MP 4K AcuSense motorised varifocal turret IP camera designed for demanding residential, retail and commercial CCTV installations. It combines a large 1/1.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor with Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light imaging, a flexible 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens, 40m infrared illumination and 120dB true Wide Dynamic Range.

Hikvision AcuSense deep-learning technology provides human and vehicle target classification for supported motion and perimeter events, helping reduce irrelevant alerts generated by animals, vegetation and other non-security movement.

The robust metal turret housing is rated IP66 for outdoor environmental protection and IK10 for impact resistance. External audio and alarm interfaces, 512GB microSD support, NAS recording, PoE and compatibility with suitable Hikvision NVRs make it a flexible choice for professional CCTV installations.

8MP 4K Image Quality

The DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS (C) uses a large 1/1.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor and provides a maximum video resolution of 3840 × 2160, delivering detailed 8MP 4K surveillance footage.

In UK 50Hz operation, the main stream supports up to 25 frames per second at 3840 × 2160, 3200 × 1800, 2688 × 1520, 1920 × 1080 and 1280 × 720.

The combination of high resolution and a large image sensor makes the camera suitable for installations where detailed recorded footage is required across entrances, driveways, retail spaces, yards and commercial premises.

2.8-12mm Motorised Varifocal Lens

The camera uses a 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal F1.4 lens. This allows the installer to electronically adjust focal length and focus during commissioning instead of being permanently restricted to one fixed viewing angle.

At 2.8mm, the camera provides approximately 108° horizontal, 58° vertical and 127.4° diagonal coverage. At the 12mm telephoto position, this narrows to approximately 46° horizontal, 26° vertical and 52° diagonal.

The wide setting is useful for larger entrances, forecourts, shop areas and building approaches, while the telephoto end is useful where a narrower image and greater subject size are required around gates, pathways, corridors or access points.

The motorised lens does not make this a PTZ camera. Focal length and focus can be adjusted electronically, but the turret itself does not provide powered pan or tilt movement.

DORI Planning Distances

At the 2.8mm wide setting, Hikvision provides approximate DORI reference distances of 86m detection, 34.1m observation, 17.2m recognition and 8.6m identification.

At the 12mm telephoto setting, the figures increase to approximately 214m detection, 84.9m observation, 42.8m recognition and 21.4m identification.

DORI values are theoretical pixel-density planning references rather than guaranteed real-world facial, vehicle-registration or evidential identification distances.

Powered-by-DarkFighter Low-Light Imaging

Powered-by-DarkFighter technology is designed to provide strong image performance in low ambient light. Hikvision specifies minimum colour illumination down to 0.003 lux at F1.4 with automatic gain control enabled.

When visible light becomes insufficient, the camera can switch to infrared-assisted black-and-white imaging.

This model should not be described as ColorVu. Powered-by-DarkFighter and ColorVu are different Hikvision technologies, and this camera uses infrared illumination in darkness.

Up to 40m Infrared Night Vision

The DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS (C) provides infrared illumination with a manufacturer-rated range of up to 40 metres using 850nm infrared light.

Smart Supplement Light helps regulate the infrared output according to the scene and can reduce excessive illumination when a person or object moves closer to the camera.

The 40m figure describes rated IR illumination distance. It is not a guarantee that a face or number plate can be identified at 40 metres.

AcuSense Human and Vehicle Classification

Hikvision AcuSense uses deep-learning algorithms to distinguish supported human and vehicle targets from unrelated scene activity.

Supported perimeter-protection functions include line crossing detection, intrusion detection, region entrance detection and region exiting detection, with human and vehicle target classification available for these events.

Motion detection also supports human and vehicle classification, helping reduce irrelevant alerts when the camera is positioned and configured correctly.

Face Capture

Face capture is supported and can be used to detect and capture suitable facial images within a compatible surveillance system.

Face capture is not the same as facial identity recognition. The camera should not be advertised as independently recognising or identifying named individuals.

120dB True Wide Dynamic Range

120dB true Wide Dynamic Range helps retain detail in scenes containing both very bright and very dark areas.

This is particularly useful around entrances, windows, shop doors, loading bays and vehicle access points where strong daylight, shadows or headlights can create difficult exposure conditions.

Additional image enhancement includes Backlight Compensation, Highlight Compensation and 3D Digital Noise Reduction.

H.265+ Efficient Video Compression

The main video stream supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression. H.265+ can help reduce storage and bandwidth requirements when used with suitable recording settings and compatible equipment.

Actual storage savings depend on resolution, frame rate, bit rate, scene activity and recording configuration.

512GB microSD, NAS and ANR Recording

The exact DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS (C) supports compatible microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC cards with capacities up to 512GB.

The camera does not include 512GB of built-in storage. A memory card should only be advertised as supplied if one is specifically included with the product option being sold.

Network storage using NFS or SMB/CIFS is supported, together with Automatic Network Replenishment in compatible Hikvision configurations.

NVR and ONVIF Compatibility

The camera can be connected to an appropriately specified Hikvision NVR for central recording, playback and system management. Recorder compatibility should be checked against supported resolution, incoming bandwidth, PoE capability, firmware and required smart functions.

ONVIF Profiles S, G and T are supported together with Hikvision ISAPI and SDK integration, allowing use with compatible third-party recording and video-management platforms.

External Audio and Alarm Interfaces

The camera provides one external line-level audio input and one external line-level audio output through 3.5mm connections.

It also includes one alarm input and one alarm output for integration with compatible external alarm equipment.

These are external interfaces. The base IZS model should not be marketed as having a built-in microphone or built-in speaker.

PoE and 12V DC Power

The camera can be powered using a suitable 12V DC supply or IEEE 802.3af PoE Class 3.

Maximum manufacturer-rated consumption is approximately 11.04W using 12V DC or 12.5W using PoE.

PoE can simplify CCTV installation by carrying electrical power and network data through one suitable Ethernet cable when connected to compatible equipment.

IP66 and IK10 Metal Housing

The DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS (C) uses a metal housing and carries an IP66 weather-protection rating together with an IK10 impact-resistance rating.

The camera measures approximately Ø135.8 × 145.5mm and weighs approximately 1.16kg. Manufacturer-listed packaged weight is approximately 1.53kg.

The specified operating range is -30°C to 60°C with humidity of 95% or less under non-condensing conditions.
