This Hikvision CCTV kit includes four DS-2CD2386G2-IU 8MP 2.8mm AcuSense Powered-by-DarkFighter turret network cameras and one DS-7608NXI-K2/8P eight-channel PoE NVR. The four included cameras occupy four of the recorder's eight IP camera channels, leaving four channels available for compatible future expansion. Designed for residential and commercial surveillance, this configuration provides a practical balance between immediate four-area coverage and capacity to grow without replacing the recorder.

The standard kit consists of the four cameras and NVR only. A surveillance hard drive, PoE network cables, camera junction boxes, monitor and other installation accessories are optional and are not included unless specifically selected or stated separately.

What Is Included in This CCTV Kit?

Four 8MP Cameras for Multi-Area Coverage

This four-camera configuration is suitable where several important areas need to be monitored from the start. Around a home, the cameras could be positioned to cover a driveway, front entrance, rear garden and side access. In a business environment, four cameras could monitor customer entrances, retail floors, stock areas, offices, loading points or other priority locations.

Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU provides a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160, delivering 8MP imaging for detailed CCTV surveillance. The higher pixel count can preserve useful visual information across monitored areas and provide more image detail than lower-resolution camera systems when the scene, distance and installation are suitable.

The cameras support H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 video compression. Efficient H.265+ compression can help control bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining practical image quality when the system is correctly configured.

2.8mm Wide-Angle Lens

All four cameras in this kit use the 2.8mm fixed-lens version of the DS-2CD2386G2-IU. The lens provides approximately 111 degrees horizontal, 59 degrees vertical and 131 degrees diagonal field of view.

This wide viewing angle makes the cameras well suited to broad coverage of entrances, driveways, gardens, shop floors, reception areas, offices, stock rooms and similar spaces where a large part of the scene needs to remain visible.

A 2.8mm lens gives wider scene coverage than a narrower lens but naturally places fewer pixels on distant subjects. Camera location, mounting height, target distance and viewing angle should therefore be considered carefully where identification detail is especially important.

Powered-by-DarkFighter Low-Light Imaging

The DS-2CD2386G2-IU uses Hikvision Powered-by-DarkFighter technology to improve image performance under challenging low-light conditions. This is useful for external and internal areas where lighting can change considerably throughout the day and night.

The cameras also provide infrared illumination with a specified range of up to 30 metres. When visible lighting becomes too low, infrared operation enables continued night surveillance without relying entirely on external visible lighting.

This model is not a ColorVu camera. It should therefore be described as using Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light technology combined with infrared night monitoring rather than continuous full-colour imaging in complete darkness.

AcuSense Human and Vehicle Classification

Hikvision AcuSense uses deep-learning based target classification to help distinguish human and vehicle activity within supported intelligent events. This can improve the usefulness of event-based CCTV monitoring by helping the system concentrate on activity involving people and vehicles.

The DS-2CD2386G2-IU supports intelligent functions including line crossing detection, intrusion detection, region entrance detection and region exiting detection with human and vehicle classification.

Actual detection performance depends on camera position, target distance, viewing angle, lighting, scene complexity and configuration. Intelligent functions should therefore be configured around the real surveillance area rather than treated as automatic substitutes for good camera positioning.

Built-In Microphone on All Four Cameras

Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU includes a built-in microphone. When compatible audio recording is enabled, the system can record sound alongside camera video to provide additional context around monitored areas.

Audio may be particularly useful around entrances, reception areas, counters, offices and customer-facing locations. Customers should ensure that any use of CCTV audio complies with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

The camera does not include an integrated loudspeaker, so this model should not be described as providing built-in two-way audio, an audible warning speaker or active deterrence.

DS-7608NXI-K2/8P 8-Channel PoE NVR

The supplied Hikvision DS-7608NXI-K2/8P is an eight-channel network video recorder with eight integrated PoE camera interfaces. Compatible PoE cameras can connect directly to the NVR, simplifying the installation by allowing suitable Ethernet cabling to carry both network communication and electrical power.

The four-camera kit uses exactly half of the recorder's available camera channels. Four channels remain available for compatible future cameras, making the system useful for customers who expect their surveillance requirements to expand later.

The NVR provides up to 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth. Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU supports a configurable video bitrate up to 16 Mbps, meaning the theoretical maximum combined bitrate of the four cameras is approximately 64 Mbps. This remains within the recorder's specified incoming-bandwidth capacity.

PoE Capacity for Four Cameras

Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU supports IEEE 802.3af PoE and has a maximum specified PoE consumption of approximately 6.8W. Four cameras therefore create a theoretical maximum combined camera load of approximately 27.2W.

The DS-7608NXI-K2/8P provides a total PoE power budget of up to 80W, so the supplied four-camera configuration remains comfortably within the available PoE capacity.

Suitable Ethernet network cables are required between the cameras and NVR. Network cables are optional and are not included as standard, allowing cable lengths to be selected according to the actual installation.

Optional Surveillance Hard Drive

A surveillance hard drive is not included as standard with this CCTV kit. A compatible HDD should be selected separately when central recording and playback through the NVR are required.

The DS-7608NXI-K2/8P provides two SATA interfaces, allowing customers to select storage capacity according to their retention requirements and future expansion plans.

Recording duration depends on resolution, bitrate, frame rate, compression, recording schedule, scene activity and camera quantity. Four 8MP cameras will require more storage than smaller camera-count configurations when comparable recording settings are used.

A specific number of recording days should therefore only be quoted after completing a storage calculation using the intended settings.

Local Display and Remote Viewing

The NVR provides HDMI and VGA video outputs for connection to a compatible display. A monitor is not included as standard but can be added separately for local live viewing, playback and recorder configuration.

Compatible Hikvision remote-viewing services can also be configured for network and mobile access. Remote viewing requires suitable internet connectivity, correct network configuration, account setup and appropriate security settings.

Four Spare Channels for Future Expansion

The four supplied cameras use four of the recorder's eight channels, leaving four channels available for compatible future cameras.

This allows the system to begin as a four-camera installation while retaining the potential to double the camera count later. A residential system could expand to additional garden, garage or side-access locations, while a business installation could extend to more offices, entrances, storage areas or external spaces.

Future expansion must still consider incoming bandwidth, PoE capacity, decoding requirements, recording storage and camera compatibility. Four remaining channels do not mean that every possible combination of four additional IP cameras will automatically operate at maximum settings.

Installation and Optional Accessories

The standard kit includes four cameras and one NVR only. Suitable network cabling, recording storage, camera mounting accessories and other installation materials should be selected separately based on the property and installation route.

The Hikvision DS-1280ZJ-PT6 is a compatible optional junction box for the DS-2CD2386G2-IU. One junction box would normally be required for each camera where this mounting accessory is selected, but junction boxes are not included in the standard kit.

Other installation requirements may include suitable wall or ceiling fixings, conduit, cable protection, additional network equipment, a surveillance HDD, monitor, additional cable length or other site-specific materials.
