This Hikvision CCTV kit includes three DS-2CD2386G2-IU 8MP 2.8mm AcuSense Powered-by-DarkFighter turret network cameras and one DS-7608NXI-K2/8P eight-channel PoE NVR. The three included cameras occupy three of the recorder's eight available IP camera channels, leaving five channels available for compatible future expansion. Designed for homes, shops, offices, warehouses and other residential or commercial properties, the system combines detailed 4K-resolution IP surveillance, intelligent human and vehicle classification, built-in camera microphones, infrared night monitoring and convenient PoE connectivity.

What Is Included in This CCTV Kit?

Three 8MP Cameras for Detailed Property Coverage

This three-camera configuration provides more coverage than a basic two-camera system while retaining substantial room for future expansion. Three cameras can be positioned around separate priority areas such as a front entrance, rear access point and driveway, or across different internal areas in a shop, office, warehouse or other commercial property.

Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU provides a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160, delivering 8MP imaging for detailed CCTV surveillance. The higher pixel resolution helps retain useful scene detail across entrances, pathways, customer areas, storage spaces and building approaches.

The cameras support H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 video compression. Efficient H.265+ compression can help reduce network and storage requirements when compared with less efficient recording configurations, although actual requirements depend on the final camera and recording settings.

2.8mm Wide-Angle Camera Lens

All three cameras use the 2.8mm fixed-lens version of the DS-2CD2386G2-IU. This lens provides approximately 111 degrees horizontal, 59 degrees vertical and 131 degrees diagonal field of view.

The wide viewing angle is particularly useful where broad scene coverage is required. Typical positions can include entrances, driveways, reception areas, retail floors, offices, workshops and storage areas.

A 2.8mm lens covers a wider scene than a narrower fixed lens, but objects positioned farther away naturally occupy fewer pixels in the image. Correct camera positioning therefore remains important where identification detail is a priority.

Powered-by-DarkFighter Low-Light Performance

The DS-2CD2386G2-IU uses Hikvision Powered-by-DarkFighter technology to improve image performance in challenging low-light environments. This can help retain useful detail as natural or artificial lighting levels decrease.

The cameras also include infrared illumination with a specified range of up to 30 metres. When the available visible light becomes insufficient, infrared night operation allows the cameras to continue monitoring the scene.

This camera model is not a ColorVu camera. It should therefore be described as using Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light imaging together with infrared night monitoring rather than continuous full-colour night surveillance.

AcuSense Human and Vehicle Classification

Hikvision AcuSense technology uses deep-learning based analysis to help distinguish human and vehicle targets for supported intelligent events. This can make event-based surveillance more useful by helping the system focus on relevant human or vehicle activity.

8-Channel Hikvision PoE AcuSense NVR

The supplied DS-7608NXI-K2/8P is an eight-channel Hikvision network video recorder with eight integrated PoE camera interfaces. Compatible PoE cameras can connect directly to the recorder, simplifying both network connectivity and camera power distribution.

Three of the eight recorder channels are used by this kit, leaving five channels available for future compatible cameras. This gives the customer meaningful expansion capacity without moving immediately to a larger recorder.

The recorder supports up to 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth. Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU camera supports a configurable video bitrate up to 16 Mbps, giving a theoretical maximum of approximately 48 Mbps across the three supplied cameras. This remains within the NVR's 80 Mbps incoming-bandwidth capacity.

PoE Power Capacity

Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU supports IEEE 802.3af PoE and has a maximum specified PoE consumption of approximately 6.8W. Three cameras therefore represent a theoretical maximum camera load of approximately 20.4W.

The DS-7608NXI-K2/8P provides a total PoE power budget of up to 80W, meaning this three-camera configuration remains comfortably within the available PoE capacity.

Suitable PoE-compatible Ethernet cabling is required between each camera and the NVR. Camera network cables are optional and are not included in the standard kit.

Optional CCTV Recording Storage

A hard drive is not included as standard. A compatible surveillance HDD can be selected separately where central recording and playback through the NVR are required.

The DS-7608NXI-K2/8P provides two SATA interfaces, allowing customers to choose storage capacity according to their recording and retention requirements.

Recording duration depends on several factors including the number of cameras, recording resolution, bitrate, frame rate, compression mode, recording schedule and scene activity. Three 8MP cameras will naturally require more storage than an equivalent one-camera or two-camera configuration using the same recording settings.

A fixed number of recording days should therefore not be promised without carrying out a storage calculation using the intended settings.

Local and Remote Viewing

The NVR provides HDMI and VGA display outputs for connection to a compatible monitor. A monitor is not included as standard but can be added separately where customers require dedicated local live viewing, playback and recorder configuration.

Remote viewing can also be configured through compatible Hikvision software and services. Remote access requires suitable internet connectivity, account setup, network configuration and appropriate security settings.

Five Spare Channels for Future Expansion

This three-camera kit occupies three of the eight available recorder channels, leaving five channels free. This makes the system suitable for customers who currently need three surveillance points but expect the property or security requirements to expand later.
