Hikvision 2 Camera 8MP 2.8mm AcuSense IP CCTV Kit – DS-2CD2386G2-IU + DS-7608NXI-K2/8P

This Hikvision CCTV kit includes two DS-2CD2386G2-IU 8MP 2.8mm AcuSense Powered-by-DarkFighter turret network cameras and one DS-7608NXI-K2/8P eight-channel PoE NVR. The two included cameras use two of the recorder's eight available IP camera channels, leaving six channels available for compatible future expansion. Designed for detailed residential and commercial surveillance, the system combines high-resolution IP video, intelligent human and vehicle classification, built-in camera microphones, infrared night monitoring and convenient PoE connectivity.

The standard kit consists of the two cameras and NVR only. A surveillance hard drive, camera network cables, junction boxes, monitor and other installation accessories are optional and are not included unless specifically selected or stated separately.

What Is Included in This CCTV Kit?

8MP 4K CCTV Image Quality

Each Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2-IU camera provides a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160, giving the system 8MP imaging for detailed surveillance. This high pixel resolution can help retain useful visual information across entrances, driveways, offices, shops, stock rooms, warehouses and other monitored areas.

The cameras use a 1/1.8-inch progressive scan CMOS image sensor and support H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression. H.265+ can help use network bandwidth and recording storage more efficiently when correctly configured.

2.8mm Wide-Angle Lens

Both DS-2CD2386G2-IU cameras in this kit use the 2.8mm fixed-lens version. The 2.8mm lens provides approximately 111 degrees of horizontal field of view, 59 degrees vertically and 131 degrees diagonally.

This wide viewing angle makes the cameras particularly useful where broad scene coverage is important. Typical applications can include entrances, driveways, front gardens, reception areas, retail floors, offices, corridors and internal commercial areas.

A wide-angle lens covers more of the scene, but identification detail at longer distances naturally decreases compared with a narrower lens. Camera placement should therefore be planned around the area that actually needs to be monitored.

Powered-by-DarkFighter Low-Light Imaging

The DS-2CD2386G2-IU uses Hikvision Powered-by-DarkFighter technology to improve image performance in low-light environments. The camera has a specified minimum colour illumination of 0.003 Lux at F1.6 with AGC enabled.

When lighting levels fall further, the camera can use integrated infrared illumination with a specified range of up to 30 metres. This enables surveillance to continue in darkness without requiring ordinary visible lighting.

This particular camera is not a ColorVu model. It should therefore be described as a Powered-by-DarkFighter camera with infrared night monitoring rather than as a full-colour-in-darkness ColorVu camera.

AcuSense Human and Vehicle Classification

Hikvision AcuSense technology uses deep-learning based analysis to help distinguish human and vehicle targets in supported intelligent events. This allows the system to concentrate more effectively on relevant activity instead of treating every movement as equally important.

The DS-2CD2386G2-IU supports human and vehicle target classification for compatible events and also supports intelligent functions including line crossing detection, intrusion detection, region entrance detection and region exiting detection.

Actual detection performance still depends on correct camera placement, scene conditions and configuration. Intelligent CCTV should therefore be configured to suit the specific property rather than relying only on factory-default settings.

Built-In Microphone for CCTV Audio

The IU version of the DS-2CD2386G2 includes a built-in microphone for real-time audio capture. When correctly configured with the NVR, video can therefore be recorded together with compatible camera audio.

This can provide additional context around entrances, reception areas, counters and other monitored locations. Appropriate legal and privacy requirements should always be considered when CCTV audio recording is enabled.

The camera does not contain an integrated loudspeaker and should not be advertised as providing built-in two-way audio or an active audible warning function.

DS-7608NXI-K2/8P 8-Channel PoE NVR

The supplied Hikvision DS-7608NXI-K2/8P is an eight-channel AcuSense network video recorder designed for IP CCTV systems. It provides eight integrated PoE camera interfaces, allowing compatible PoE cameras to connect directly to the NVR.

This two-camera kit occupies only two channels. Six recorder channels therefore remain available for compatible future cameras, making the configuration useful for customers who want to begin with two priority areas but retain substantial expansion capacity.

The recorder supports up to 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth and supports 8MP recording. The two included DS-2CD2386G2-IU cameras are comfortably within the recorder's channel and incoming-bandwidth capability.

PoE Connection and Camera Power

Each DS-2CD2386G2-IU supports IEEE 802.3af PoE. When connected directly to one of the recorder's PoE interfaces using a suitable Ethernet cable, network data and camera power can travel through the same cable.

The DS-7608NXI-K2/8P provides eight PoE interfaces and a total PoE power budget of up to 80W. Each camera has a maximum specified PoE consumption of approximately 6.8W, meaning the two-camera configuration requires only a small proportion of the recorder's available PoE capacity.

Network cables are not included in the standard kit and should be selected separately according to the required cable routes and installation distances.

Hard Drive and CCTV Recording

A hard drive is not included as standard with this kit. The NVR can accept compatible surveillance hard drives through its internal SATA interfaces, and a suitable HDD should be selected if central recording and playback through the NVR are required.

The DS-7608NXI-K2/8P provides two SATA interfaces and supports high-capacity storage. Customers can therefore choose storage according to their required retention period rather than being forced into one fixed hard-drive size.

The amount of recording time available from any HDD depends on camera quantity, resolution, bitrate, frame rate, compression, continuous or event-based recording schedules and the amount of activity within each scene. A fixed number of recording days should therefore not be guaranteed without completing a storage calculation using the intended settings.

Local and Remote Viewing

The NVR provides HDMI and VGA display outputs for connection to a compatible monitor. A monitor is not included in this standard kit but can be added separately if local viewing, playback or recorder configuration through a dedicated display is required.

Remote viewing can also be configured using compatible Hikvision software and services. Internet access, appropriate account configuration and correct network settings are required for remote access.

Expansion to Additional Cameras

The eight-channel recorder gives this two-camera kit significant expansion potential. Two channels are occupied by the supplied cameras and six channels remain available.

Additional cameras should not be selected using channel count alone. Future cameras must also remain within the NVR's supported resolution, incoming bandwidth, decoding capability, available PoE power and storage capacity.

Adding more cameras will also increase recording-storage requirements, so customers planning future expansion should consider HDD capacity as part of the system design.

Installation and Optional Accessories

The standard kit contains the cameras and NVR only. Suitable Ethernet cabling is required to connect the cameras to the NVR PoE interfaces. Cable lengths should be selected according to the actual property and planned installation routes.

The Hikvision DS-1280ZJ-PT6 is a compatible optional junction box for this camera family and can be added where a suitable camera junction box is required. Junction boxes are not included as standard.

Installation may also require suitable wall or ceiling fixings, conduit, weatherproof cable routing, network equipment, an HDD, monitor or other site-specific materials depending on how and where the equipment is installed.

Important Information Before Purchase

This kit contains two DS-2CD2386G2-IU 2.8mm cameras and one DS-7608NXI-K2/8P NVR only. A surveillance hard drive, Ethernet cables, camera junction boxes, monitor and other installation accessories are optional unless separately selected.

An HDD should be added if local recordings are to be stored centrally on the NVR. Suitable Ethernet cabling is also required to connect the cameras to the NVR PoE ports.
